Secretary of Public Ethics, Transparency and Fight against Corruption of Argentina, in charge of the Anticorruption Office.

Laura Alonso is the Secretary of Public Ethics, Transparency and Fight against Corruption of Argentina, in charge of the Anticorruption Office. She was appointed by President Mauricio Macri in December 2015. She was chair of the G-20 Anti-Corruption Working Group under the Argentine Presidency in 2018.

She served as Member of the House of Representatives from 2009 to 2015. Previously, she was the Executive Director of “Poder Ciudadano”, the Argentine chapter of Transparency International.

She was selected Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum in 2012, British Chevening Fellow in 2000, Eisenhower Fellow in 2008, and Draper Hills Fellow in 2012.

In 2008, she received a Global Award from Vital Voices Global Partnership, a Washington based NGO.
The Council of the Americas portrayed her work as an "Innovator” at the publication “Americas Quarterly” in 2012 (http://bit.ly/2oZgomf.).

She has been speaker at the Aspen Ideas Festival, the "Women in the World" conference, the CAF, the World Bank and at the OECD. She has been interviewed by national and international media and is an active user and political influencer at Twitter and Facebook.

She has a degree in Political Science from the University of Buenos Aires and holds a Master in Public Administration and Public Policy from the London School of Economics and Political Science. She was a Faculty Member of the University of Buenos Aires.
