Floriana Sipala is the Head of the Organised Crime and Drugs Policy Unit, in DG HOME and MIGRATION, the Unit which is in charge for Anti-corruption policy. She joined the European Commission 20 years ago, to work in the area of Justice and Home Affairs policy, thus giving her contribution to the development of a new and challenging policy for the EU. During her professional career she held various positions on migration and asylum matters, on enlargement policy and on institutional issues, at the time of the drafting of the Constitutional Treaty and the negotiation of the Lisbon Treaty. She also worked in the Cabinet of Vice-President Margot Wallström, responsible for Inter-Institutional issues and Communication. She holds a Bachelor and Doctor on Political Sciences at the University of Catania, and she also did postgraduate studies in European Law and Economics (European College of Parma) and in Parliamentarian studies (at the Florence University).
