Graduated in Law in 2002, he obtained his doctorate from the Law Faculty of the University of Pisa in 2006 and began working as a lawyer with an independent law firm in Florence.
In the 2013 general elections he was elected as a Member of the 17th Parliament of the Italian Republic in the 12th Tuscany constituency for the 5 Star Movement.
Since 2016: member of the coordination and support group of the municipalities governed by the 5 Star Movement.
He was Vice-Chairman of the Justice Committee of the Chamber of Deputies throughout the 17th Parliament and one of the 5 effective members of the Appellate Board within the Chamber of Deputies throughout the parliamentary term.
On 1 June 2018 he was appointed Minister of Justice in the Conte’s Government.
